Laurie Rich Levinson Shuns Voters For Country Club Lunch With Fort Lauderdale Business Leaders

Campaigning for office in August is never easy in Broward. Voters are scarce. It’s close to 100 degrees with 100% humidity. Lunch consists of warm Publix subs and lukewarm bottles of water. And desperate candidates call the police on their opponents.
On Friday, Laurie Rich Levinson took a break from getting mad at her opponent’s supporters to have a nice fancy lunch at the Weston Hills Country Club. While Andrew Pollack stood outside the library telling voters how his daughter was tragically murdered at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in February, Laurie Rich Levinson picked up a meaningless “person of the year” award from the Greater Fort Lauderdale Chamber of Commerce.
Pollack is a strong supporter of her opponent Dr. Richard Mendelson.
The Chamber’s Sawgrass Awards luncheon honored Levinson, Weston Mayor Dan Stermer and the Florida Panthers. The $85 per person lunch was sponsored by big corporations like Autonation, Bank Of America, BB&T, FPL, Broward Health, Stiles Construction and many others. The sponsorship packages started at $5,500.
Imagine if all that money was used to make just one Broward school safer.
Let’s hope the Laurie Rich Levinson redshirts don’t find out the boss was dining in style while they shoved down Whopper Jrs in a library parking lot.
